OUR BOOK

In 2005, with the help of grants from the then SA Department for Environment and Heritage, the Friends published a field guide, Shrubs and Trees of the Great Victoria Desert, by Marlene Friebe and Bill Matheson. The book describes 50 of the more common trees and shrubs in the area. Some, like the wonderful Marble Gum, Eucalyptus gonglyocarpa, are only found in the GVD. The book has proved to be of great interest to outback travellers and it has had two printings. As at January 2020, only a few dozen copies are left, but a further printing is possible.

The book may be purchased by contacting our treasurer. Recommended retail price: $10.00 (plus postage if ordering from the treasurer). Wholesale price: $6.00 per copy (plus postage) for booksellers ordering bulk copies.
