Welcome to the Friends of the Great Victoria Desert Website
The next meeting will be a General Business Meeting at 7:30 pm, Friday June 2, 2023, at St Saviours Anglican Church, 596 Portrush Rd, Glen Osmond. All welcome, including prospective new members.
Jan has produced Newsletter No. 52 – our first since COVID. It brings us up to date with reports and lots of pictures of the ’21 and ’22 field trips and the social trip mentioned below. Go to the Publications page or download it here.
2022 Field Trips
Two successful field trips took place in August, involving vegetation photopoints, drone vegetation monitoring and a quondong survey. The trip reports can be found on the Field Trips page.
2022 Social Trip
A pleasant social trip to Cantara in the Coorong National Park took place in April. We joined our colleagues from Friends of the Simpson Desert (FOS) and enjoyed some nice eating, drinking, exploring, catching-up and maintenance work around the homestead. We are planning to repeat this experience in 2023.
2021 Field Trips
Two field trips were planned for August, 2021. The first trip was completed successfully, but the second trip (quondong survey) had to be cancelled due to an outback COVID exposure incident.
