Field Trip 2007

2007 Field Trip to Serpentine Lakes via Tallaringa

This long field trip began in Coober Pedy, travelling the Anne Beadell Highway through the Tallaringa Conservation Park and on to Emu, Mamungari and the Serpentine Lakes on the WA border. Refuelling took place at Oak Valley.

Several vegetation and bird surveys were conducted and new posts were installed along our interpretative trail in Mamungari.

As Tallaringa is adminstered from Port Augusta and Mamungari from Ceduna, we were fortunate to have rangers from two DEH district offices with us for part of the trip. They kindly “chained” the worst sections of the Anne Beadell Highway for us, making travel easier.

Full details may be found in the 2007 Field Trip Report.
